2022 Western Sydney International Bursary (Under-Post)graduate Courses

The Bursary is available to applicants from the following nationalities: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam.

The Western Sydney University has been named one of the world’s top 400 universities in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities.

International students are eligible to apply for this scholarship. International students are required to have genuine access to sufficient funds while studying in Australia.

Government-funded Australian scholarships for International students (Western Sydney International Bursary)

  • Destination Australia awards– This includes Over 1,000 scholarships of up to AU$15,000 per student per year available to both domestic and international students to study at all study levels at universities in regional Australia.
  • Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS)– Scholarships to study in Australia for students of all degree levels (bachelors, masters, PhD).  Highlighting from regions of selected countries within the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and the Middle East. Applicants from Indonesia can also apply for the Allison Sudradjat Prize or the Hadi Soesastro Prize.
  • Research Training Program (RTP)– Postgraduate-level Australian scholarships for domestic and international students to study a research degree at a participating Australian university.

University-specific Australian scholarships for international students

  • Australian Catholic University International Student Scholarships – Scholarships for commencing international undergraduate and postgraduate students, awarded based on academic merit.
  • Flinders International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (FIPRS) – Australian scholarships to study at Flinders University in Adelaide. Awarded to master’s and PhD research students, based on merit.
  • Melbourne Research Scholarships (MRS) – Scholarships for high-achieving domestic and international students to undertake a master’s research program at the University of Melbourne.

  • University of Sydney International Scholarships – Various Australian scholarships open to international undergraduate students studying at the University of Sydney. There are also scholarships open to postgraduate students.
  • University of Newcastle Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UNIPRS) – Australian scholarships for postgraduate students to study in Australia at the University of Newcastle.

Scholarship Description (Western Sydney International Bursary)

  • Applications Deadline: You must satisfy all academic and English entry requirements and accept your Offer by the deadline date given below for the respective commencing session:
  1. Quarter 1 2021:                 16 November 2022
  2. Second Quarter 2021:        4 March 2022
  3. Quarter 3 2021:                 24 May 2022
  4. Quarter 4 2021:                 16 August 2022
  5. Semester 1 2021:              12 December 2022
  6. Semester 2 2021:              21 June 2022
  • Course Level: Bursary is available to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate courses in 2019.
  • Study Subject:

    The Bursary is available for all CRICOS registered undergraduate and postgraduate degrees except the below:

  1. Doctor of Medicine
  2. Bachelor of Nursing
  3. Bachelor of Nursing (Graduate Entry)
  • Scholarship Award: The Bursary’s value is at $3,000 and will be receivable as a one-off contribution towards tuition fees.

The Bursary does not cover costs associated with living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with a study.

  • Nationality: (Western Sydney International Bursary)

    The Bursary is available to applicants from the following nationalities: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam.

  • Number of Scholarships: Bursaries are on restriction or on limit basis. Applicants should accept their offer quickly to avoid disappointment.

Eligibility for the Scholarship

Eligible Countries: The Bursary is available to applicants from the following nationalities: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam.

Entrance Requirements: To be eligible for the Bursary you must:

  • Be a new international student commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at Western Sydney in 2022, for the first time.
  • Be a first time applicant, applying for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate program after 20 August 2022.
  • Anternational student with a Higher Education Sector Visa (Subclass 500).
  • Be a citizen of Bangladesh, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam.
  • Satisfy the academic and English requirement for the undergraduate or postgraduate degree you are applying to.
  • Accept your Admission Offer by the deadline below.

Applicants are not eligible if you: (Western Sydney International Bursary)

  • Area citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.
  • Area study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University
  • Currently, have an existing offer for study in 2022 (any intake)
  • Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at Western Sydney University
  • Area cross-institutional applicant
  • Do not commence study in the session and year indicated in their offer. Commencement may not be deferred
  • Area foundation and diploma student studying at The College
  • Are an applicant applying to study at Sydney City campus
  • Another award scholarship by the University or another organization that covers the cost of tuition fees (fully or partially). Especially to study at Western Sydney University in 2022 (any intake).

English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Application Procedure

How to Apply: No application is necessary. All new applications for admission will be automatically be consider for a bursary. If you are successful, your bursary offer will be outline in your Offer of Admission letter. Bursaries offer(ed) to students commencing study in 2022 are on restriction basis. Selection for each intake will be based on early acceptance by the publish(ed) deadlines.
